On October 1, Bulgarian insurance celebrates its professional holiday.
On this date, in 1891. in Ruse, the first independent Bulgarian insurer - the company "Bulgaria" started working.
The Constituent Assembly was held on December 16, 1890. On August 23, 1891, then Prince Ferdinand signed Decree 134 on the founding of the company, and on October 1, 1981 it opened its doors, which is considered the date of the beginning of Bulgarian insurance.
October 1 was declared a professional holiday of Bulgarian insurers in 1996, by decision of the Association of Bulgarian Insurers and the Union of Private Insurers.
