The export of Bulgarian goods to the European Union increased by 19.5% as of May 2017. compared to the same period for the previous 2016 Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and Belgium are Bulgaria's main trading partners. In the sector "Mineral fuels, oils and similar products" the growth is the largest - 42.9%, followed by "Articles classified mainly by type of material" with 34.3% growth. A decline is observed in the Food and Live Animals sector.
After eliminating the costs for transport and insurance, when importing goods the foreign trade is negative - amounting to BGN 914.2 million.
