The first "Road Safety Olympiad" was held at 119 High School "Academician Mikhail Arnaudov". It is organized on the initiative of the Institute for Road Safety in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Sofia Municipality and I&G Insurance Brokers. The aim of the initiative is to cover the maximum number of educational institutions in the capital, and from next year to be held in other cities in the country. "Road safety training saves lives," Education and Science Minister Krassimir Valchev told students and teachers, launching the Olympics. He said that the Ministry of Education and Science will use all possible tools to teach and educate children to follow the rules of traffic safety.
In the Become Safe competition, two teams of 6th graders took part in a road safety quiz, and the teams were eligible for help from a friend. The students trusted the help of the minister and the mayor to answer some of the more complex questions. Interactive road safety training was also presented during the event. The organizers made a demonstration of driving electric cars. The participants in the game "Become safe" took part in training in masterful driving in the school yard.
