Summer is a season of summer storms and hail. Statistics show that only 1% of farmers insure their products. Currently, this is done mainly with funding from EU funds, because insurance is mandatory.

The budget, which was voted by the Management Board of the State Fund "Agriculture" for 2017, under the State Aid Scheme for co-financing insurance premiums for insurance of agricultural products, is 1.5 million levs.

The maximum amount of support that a farmer can receive is up to 65% of the value of the insurance premium.

The opinion of insurers is unanimous: You should not rely solely on the state. In Europe, the common practice is to have insurance.
