BMW has published the first official photos of the M4 Coupe concept. Although not yet officially confirmed, the successor to the M3 is expected to have a 3.0-liter in-line in-line engine generating 450 hp.
From the official photos you can see the new optical package with which the car is equipped. The huge openings in the front bumper are combined with a carbon lip spoiler, the front fenders are ventilated, and at the rear are installed the four exhaust pipes that have been mandatory since the E46 M3.
The model in the photos reveals a few more details about the car. It will have a bulging front cover and will be available with the characteristic golden color, which gained great popularity in the E46 modification.
Interestingly, the sedan, which retains the name M3, will not be powered by the same engine. It is expected to continue to use the V8, and its power will be similar to that of the Coupe. It is also speculated that the four-door version will also be available with xDrive dual transmission system, while the two-door M4 will be exclusive with rear.
The engines will be combined with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed automatic, both of which will be in line with the sporty ambitions of the car.
BMW will show the car this weekend at the exotic car show in Pebble Beach, California, but its official premiere will take place in the middle of next month, when the show opens in Frankfurt.
