Electronic slips will be received by citizens of Sofia who park their cars in gardens, on sidewalks or intersections. The photos will be taken by employees of the Center for Urban Mobility, who will lurk for improperly stopped cars under the Road Traffic Act, and then will be sent to the owners.

The possibility of using both stationary and mobile cameras of the Traffic Police and the municipality is being considered. The idea is for the "congratulations" in the post office to replace the spiders that roam outside the paid areas in the city.

Thus, instead of confusing BGN 60 per spider, Sofia residents will pay the fine on the electronic slip, which is currently from BGN 20 to BGN 50.

"This is still an idea that we are currently developing, but this practice is being successfully applied in many European cities, especially in London and Vienna. It will also allow for much more effective control by employees throughout the city, "said yesterday the head of the Center for Urban Mobility Simeon Arnaudov, quoted by the newspaper" Monitor ".

Thus, the municipality intends to stop corrupt practices. The final measure was reached after traffic police officers explained to the transport commission that about 300,000 violators park on the territory of Sofia every day.

"We have not yet specified the exact method for collecting the fines, but the money will necessarily go to the municipal budget," Arnaudov explained. He will also think about how to collect the amounts from the unpaid slips. One option is to tie them to local taxes, and the other is to collect them from tax collectors.

The green zone in the capital could swell by another 10,000 seats. Currently, the capital's municipalities are preparing an ordinance for parking in the city. However, it does not solve the problems with parking in Lozenets, where citizens have asked for paid parking spaces.

"The expansion of the zone must take place by the end of the year, because there are applications from the regions mayors at the request of the people themselves. But I am not convinced that this should happen with this ordinance ", explained to the municipal councilors in the transport commission one of its petitioners Zafir Zarkov.

According to his dark blue colleague Vili Likov, all proposals should be included in this document, and not be added afterwards.

"So far, the proposals received are for expanding the green zone by about 5,000 - 10,000 seats," Arnaudov explained. The reason for the difference is that the people from Lozenets asked for 5,000 paid boxes between the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy and the Journalist Square next to the Hemus Hotel.

However, according to other citizens, it should be introduced only in about 2,000 places. The other proposals are for the green zone to cover the Women's Market, the Dimitar Petkov market, the square between G. Sofia ”, Geshov Blvd., Totleben St. and Prague Blvd.

The green zone can continue around Yavorov Alley and the Printing Plant. However, the ordinance states that people will pay in levs to leave their cars around the national stadium. The remaining proposals for a green zone will be considered at a later stage by the commissions in the Sofia Municipal Council.
