The traffic police will conduct intensified inspections of buses and trucks from February 10 to 16, the Ministry of Interior announced.
The operation is organized by the European Network of Traffic Police Services TISPOL and is carried out simultaneously in all Member States, as in accidents involving this type of vehicle the consequences and the number of killed and injured is significantly higher than in others. serious traffic accidents.
The analyzes show that the main reasons for the accidents are non-observance of the rest time by the drivers, speeding, the use of alcohol and narcotics, the transport of unsecured goods, as well as the overloading of the cars.
The inspections are carried out jointly with employees of the Executive Agency "Automotive Administration" at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
During the operation by the method of "comprehensive control" will be checked for valid compulsory insurance "Civil Liability", as well as whether the necessary vignette fee has been paid for a certain period of time on the roads of the national road network.
Inspections for unregulated passenger transport will also be carried out.
As of today, a specialized police operation to counteract domestic crime is starting on the territory of the whole country after the frequent cases of robberies and thefts of property by residents of small and remote settlements.
It was ordered by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner Svetlozar Lazarov.
Employees of the Specialized Police Forces Directorate at the General Directorate of the National Police and of the regional directorates of the Ministry of Interior throughout the country are taking part in the action.
The operation will continue until the final task is completed.
