The popular German car magazine Auto Motor und Sport has revealed the results of its traditional tire test. The tests tested 225/50 R17 winter tires, which according to the editors are becoming increasingly popular with new cars on the market.

Tires are usually tested on dry, wet and snowy surfaces, evaluating a total of 15 different indicators, including frictional resistance, rolling noise, behavior when entering aquaplaning, comfort and more.

The first place in the ranking of Auto Motor und Sport for 2013 is occupied by ContiWinterContact TS 850, winning the best marks for snow and rain performance. The result is impressive - 99 out of 100 points for wet performance and 95 out of 100 points for snow performance.

The Pirelli - Winter Sottozero III tire also shows excellent results. It shares first place with the ContiWinterContact TS 850 in the "snowy road" category, and in wet conditions remains second with 92 out of 100 points.

On dry surfaces, the best performance is shown by the Nokian WR D3 tire, which scores 95 out of 100 tons. It is followed by Pirelli Winter Sottozero III (88 points) and Dunlop SP Winter Sport 4D (87 points). Last in this category is Fulda Kristall Control HP with a score of 70 points.
