On August 20, traffic will be unblocked on one of the busiest routes in the capital - the bridge on the 4th km of Tsarigradsko Shosse Blvd. This was promised yesterday by the mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova, who checked the repair of the route.
However, the masters will continue to work from the District Hospital to the junction for the airport. Thus, the traffic jam will continue to irritate the nerves of drivers until September 15, when the repair of Tsarigradsko Shosse must be completed, Monitor newspaper writes.
"After this period, only the works on the local lanes of the boulevard will continue," Fandakova is categorical. This week, the repair of the subway at the District Hospital began, where an elevator for the disabled is also planned.
The renovation of Tsarigradsko Shosse costs the municipality BGN 10 million. In addition, the boulevard will be lit by new energy-saving lamps. The replacement of the old ones will be done with BGN 6.5 million, as the financing is from the international fund "Kozloduy".
The bulbs in Druzhba 1 and 2, the wide center and the town of Bankya will be replaced with the money in the next year, Deputy Mayor for Transport Lyubomir Hristov explained yesterday. A total of 8,799 street lamps will operate in energy saving mode, which will reduced electricity and maintenance costs by about BGN 1 million per year.
The project also includes replacement of the electrical panels, and sensors will be placed in them, which will send a signal to the control center. This will allow the lights to turn on automatically, in case of fog or clouds during the day.
Late at night, in order to save electricity, the system will reduce the brightness. The control center will also report the theft of electricity. An alarm will be given automatically in this way and in this way you will know exactly which lamp is not lit.
The first 20 luxury buses will be launched by the end of the month. They are part of the 126 vehicles that have to replace the broken and rattled Icarus. "The buses are equipped with the most modern equipment at the moment, meet all European environmental standards and accessibility requirements," said Hristov.
Extras include air conditioning, gas engines and a sound system for stops.
