It will be mandatory to use winter tires only if the road is covered with snow or ice. This decision was made by the deputies from the Transport Commission, who adopted at second reading amendments to the Road Traffic Act.
The initial proposal was to make winter tires mandatory from November to April, but it was rejected. The reason for this is that there are parts of Bulgaria where there is almost no snow.
The fine provided for violators is BGN 50.
