A new type of fraud is gaining momentum on Facebook. Without the knowledge of social network users, messages are spread from their profiles asking their friends to send text messages to certain numbers.
It turns out that the price of only one text message is 6 leva. Users should look at the security settings on Facebook, there are almost limitless possibilities, stressed Spas Ivanov, IT specialist, in front of Nova TV.
On August 9, Dimitrina Hristeva received the following message from her friend on Facebook: "Please come in and like my environmental page. Once you log in to Facebook, it will redirect you. I beg you, like her. " "The lady herself has a flower shop and I made a connection between flowers and the environment, absolutely naturally," explains the victim. "It made an impression on me, however, that I had to follow the link to the relevant page, but before I got to it, I had to log out of my account and log in again," adds Dimitrina Hristeva.
Unaware that these instructions were given not by her friend, but by someone else who broke her profile, Dimitrina asks: "Danny, this is not a virus." The answer is no. Dimitrina came to a page that was for young people to protect the environment.
Minutes later, the hacker in question, who managed to scan the password, entered Dimitrina's profile and started sending messages to her Facebook friends, who read: "Can you send a text message from the 24th century that I need it urgently, and my phone makes trouble. ”
It is clear from some of the reports that the hacker is raising funds for a cause related to the Bulgarian Red Cross. After seeing this, Dimitrina's friends became suspicious and called her to ask if she was the author of this text.
Fortunately, he reacted quickly and none of his friends sent a text message.
The Arab Vladimir Chukov also fell victim to the same fraud. He understands this after he has not been able to log in to Facebook all day.
