In January 2021, I&G Insurance Brokers brought in Unilink Group—the largest insurance distributor in Poland—as an investor, marking the beginning of an international expansion to build the most extensive insurance distribution network in Central and Eastern Europe.

Following its investment in Bulgaria, Unilink Group acquired Safety Broker in Romania and Moldova, as well as Insia in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Today, the group is a market leader in Central and Eastern Europe with €1.3 billion in premiums, doubling its 2021 performance.

Acrisure, a U.S.-based insurance broker, is a global leader in fintech innovation within the insurance sector, known for its use of artificial intelligence in risk analysis. The company currently generates $4 billion in revenue and employs 14,000 people in 21 countries, primarily across North America and Western Europe. Acrisure combines human expertise with advanced technology to deliver a broad range of services including insurance, reinsurance, cyber solutions, and more.

"We see great potential in exchanging know-how and experience, especially in the areas of IT, artificial intelligence, distribution models, and risk assessment, including corporate business and partnership programs with insurers," said Nikolay Zdravkov, Founder and Managing Director of I&G Insurance Brokers. “I am proud that I&G Brokers is becoming part of Acrisure. This demonstrates our relentless drive for continuous growth and improvement. Just like our joining the Unilink Group two years ago, this move is both unique and innovative for the Bulgarian market and opens entirely new opportunities for partnerships and business.”

"Joining Acrisure opens vast opportunities for our partners and employees across all CEE markets," said Igor Rusinowski, CEO of Unilink. All companies within the group will continue operating under their local brands for now.

The deal is subject to approval by the relevant national competition authorities and other regulators as required by local laws.
