More and more Europeans have applied for permanent residence in England in the last year, the main reason being Brexit. Many applications are rejected due to lack of full health insurance for the period of stay. The application of every third European who applies for permanent residence is rejected. In order for their application to be successful, European Union citizens must prove that they have resided legally on the Island for more than 5 years and fall into one of four possible categories: "working", "self-employed", "student" or " self-sustaining ”.
