About 1.15 million cars in our southern neighbor - Greece do not have liability insurance. Greek media report that their owners have already been notified to pay the amounts due. Irregular drivers, in addition to a fine of 250 euros, must also take out insurance. This year, for the first time, a law adopted 3 years ago is being applied more strictly. Experts advise owners who have received a notice of unpaid insurance to take it out. If checked by police and found to have no insurance, the fine could jump to 3,000 euros.
