According to the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers, as of June 2018, sales of new cars in Bulgaria increased by 11.9%. Since the beginning of the year, the number of registered new cars in our country is 18,082 - 21.6% growth compared to the same period in 2017. This trend is expected to continue and to have an even greater increase in sales by the end of the year.

Here's what we need to know about Third Party Liability insurance when buying a new car:

If you have bought an unregistered car, a new import, you must take out compulsory liability insurance. You will need it when registering the car with the Traffic Police. To conclude the policy you must present a contract for the sale of the car. After registering the car with the Traffic Police, you must return to the insurer to present the vehicle ticket.

If you buy a registered car, the seller is obliged to provide you with all documents on the current insurance - policy, control coupon, green card). Once you have the necessary documents, within 7 days, you must notify the insurer or insurance broker of the transaction. This is done with a written request for transfer of insurance rights.
