The American edition of Forbes published a rather strange ranking of the most beautiful new cars in the world. It is strange because this rating appears in the middle of the year, and as we know, the most important car forum is coming up in September - the Frankfurt Motor Show, where many more beautiful cars will be shown. So we start with the stipulation that we do not agree with all the proposals from the top 10, and you can express your opinions on the topic in the comments below. The jury, which compiles the ranking of the 10 most beautiful cars of 2013, includes specialists from three editions - the Jalopnik portal, Vanity Fair magazine and the Classic Car Club for rare and classic cars. Here's what happened.
Aston Martin CC100
The British brand made a very interesting car, with it paying tribute to the legendary sports Aston Martin DBR1, racing on the tracks in the 50s of last century. In the CC100, designers have tried to combine retro and futuristic shapes.
McLaren P1
The P1 hybrid-powered hypercar, designed by McLaren Automotive, aims to become the ideological successor to the F1 legend. Its sales will start at the end of 2013. According to Classic Car Club, the P1 is the perfect successor to the iconic McLaren F1.
Jaguar F-Type
"The latest version of the F-Twpe is actually the most beautiful of the model series with the F index and the roadster looks shocking, but the coupe version will look even better." This is the opinion of the editor-in-chief of the car blog Jalopnik.
Cadillac CTS
Can an American sports-oriented but at the same time luxury car scare the Germans? The new CTS answers this question. Yes, and how else - Brett Burke from Vanity Fair magazine is sure.
Alfa Romeo 4C
In recent years, the Alfa Romeo brand has not impressed with innovation and is at a standstill. However, the standard version of the sports coupe with a mid-engined 4C engine brings the brand back to the attention of connoisseurs of Italian design.
Peugeot Onyx
The supercar with hybrid drive has a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, but boosted to 256 hp. It will drive the rear wheels, and an electric motor with an additional 120 kW will take care of the front axle. However, not the technical part, but its avant-garde forms rank it in the top ten of Forbes.
Lamborghini Aventador Roadster
After the successful presentation of the coupe version, Lamborghini also offers a roadster version. The new Aventador LP 700-4 is extremely beautiful, and its spectacular appearance is enhanced by the unique Dione 20 alloy wheels.
Maserati Ghibli
The new Maserati wins sympathy because of the interesting mix of different lines. Ghibli gets LED headlights in the style of the large Quattroporte limousine. However, the front bumper is shaped in a much more sporty way, and the rear has a radically different design.
Opel Astra VXR
With VXR, Opel engineers are proving that creating an athletic yet attractive hatchback is real, Jalopnik's editor-in-chief is convinced. This model was developed by British designer Andrew Dyson, who achieves a unique effect by greatly increasing the size of the front air intakes.
Volkswagen XL1
According to the editor-in-chief of Jalopnik, this is the future of rational driving. This vehicle is really revolutionary in terms of design, its average consumption is less than a liter of oil, but to rank it in the ten most beautiful cars, to put it mildly, is strange.
