Nearly 300,000 cars are expected to leave Sofia on Saturday, the last working day before the Christmas holidays, the Press reported.
The traffic will probably cause serious traffic jams at the exits of the capital to the highways "Trakia", "Hemus" and "Lyulin".
Due to the construction of the Struma highway and the expected serious car traffic, the movement of trucks and lorries on the road to Greece will be banned on December 21, January 1 and 5, 2014.
Nearly 160,000 Bulgarians are expected to travel abroad, and traditionally in recent years the main destination will be Greece
