American Andy Lee House is threatened with 20 years in prison after admitting that he deliberately drowned his Bugatti Veyron in a lake because of the $ 2.2 million insurance.
The incident happened near Galveston, Texas, in November 2009, and an investigation has been underway.
House claimed to have entered the water to avoid being hit by a low-flying pelican.
Unfortunately for him, when you drive such an expensive car, there is a chance that people around you will take pictures of you. This is exactly what happened in this case. They photographed House from a car nearby, admiring his beautiful car and filmed him entering the lake, with no pelican or other obvious cause of the accident visible.
House left the engine running in the car, which completely destroyed it. He claims to have done so because he was severely bitten by mosquitoes and distracted.
Howe bought the car on $ 1 million and insured it for $ 2.2 million just three weeks before the accident.
