BMW and Toyota have the most nominations.
The jury of the Car of the Year 2014 competition announced the 30 candidates who will compete for the prestigious award.
The jury consists of 58 members from 22 European countries, and the number of members from one country depends on the size of its car market. In March this year, the jury chose the Volkswagen Golf VII as the Car of the Year 2013, and now we can see the 30 contenders for next year.
All 30 cars are new models that are on sale or will go into
sale before the end of the year in at least 5 countries. Another condition is that each model is produced in at least 5,000 units.
In December, we expect the number of favorites to be reduced to 7, and during the Geneva Motor Show next year we will find out the winner.
