During the upcoming Detroit Motor Show in January next year, Volkswagen will present the concept of a new large sedan from the so-called premium class. It is expected that in the future this limousine will replace the insufficiently popular Phaeton.

Many experts in the automotive industry are of the opinion that VW does not need such a car and the most logical step is to remove the Phaeton from the assembly lines without looking for a replacement. However, this is not the opinion of VW. The Germans are of the opinion that they are on the right path.

According to them, the successor of Phaeton will improve the image of the brand. According to preliminary data, the new sedan will differ from the current design line of Phaeton, as it will have all the modern features that characterize the other models of VW.

In addition, the new premium VW will feature all modern active and passive safety systems, analogues of which are currently being integrated into Mercedes-Benz's new S-Class. Whether the new limousine will be needed on the market remains to be seen.
