As of July 31, 2014, there are 474 insurers from Member States that have notified the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) that they wish to carry out insurance activity on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.
In July, 13 new insurance intermediaries from Member States notified the FSC that they wished to operate in Bulgaria, and 3 refused. As of July 31, 2014, the insurance intermediaries from Member States that have notified the Financial Supervision Commission that they wish to carry out insurance intermediation activities on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria are 1804.
An insurer with a registered office on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria has stated its intention to carry out insurance activity on the territory of other EU Member States.
In July the total number of insurance companies with registered office on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, which declared their intention to carry out insurance activity on the territory of other EU Member States, was 11.
In July 1 an insurance intermediary with a seat on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria was deleted from the public register kept on the grounds of Art. 30, para. 1, item 11 of the FSCA. One insurance intermediary has expanded its activities in the territory of a Member State, but the total number of insurance intermediaries that have stated their intention to carry out insurance intermediation activities in the territory of EU Member States remains unchanged, as the intermediary is already on that list.
As of July 31, the total number of operating insurance intermediaries with registered office on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, which have declared their intention to carry out insurance intermediation activity on the territory of EU Member States, is 30.
