New car coupons began to issue traffic police this week.

They consist of two parts - large and small, which are issued together, but the upper part is detached and acts as a small coupon. It will contain almost all the technical data of the car and will be useful for travelers abroad and those who drive a car on lease.

The price of the new coupon will be BGN 9.

The change of the registration documents is not obligatory, but at will, the chief of the Traffic Police Boyko Ranovski emphasized.

However, when it is mandatory to replace the documents of cars - for example, when selling, they will be according to the new model.

The coupons are already issued in Sofia, where about 700 cars are registered per day. They will be available in other cities by the end of the week.

The reason for the innovation are checks of Bulgarian tourists in Greece, Turkey and Hungary, where the data from the big coupon are required. There is a big problem with leasing cars, as their large coupon is held by the lessor. The traffic police warn that if all leasing companies request the issuance of new documents at once, there may be queues.
