The National Assembly buffet opened at around 1.30. This happened due to the several-hour blockade of the National Assembly during yesterday's protests. Deputies, officials and journalists remained in the building for hours. Dozens of police officers guarding the parliament also took advantage of the food and water on offer, bTV reported.
The situation around the Parliament building is calm at the moment. The 41st day of protest against the government of Plamen Oresharski begins. The first vigorous shift of "coffee" protesters has already gathered in front of the main entrance of the National Assembly.
They consider it a success that the deputies will not sit today - the Parliament will not work. The protesters hope that yesterday's meetings of the budget update committees will be the last working day of the 42nd Parliament. Thus, the day for the demonstrators begins with the hope that the resignation they want will be submitted today.
Meanwhile, Mayor Yordanka Fandakova announced that the damage in Sofia was serious.
"I'm sorry that there were no police officers there when he was hanging out. The damages are serious, we will assess them within the day ", added the mayor of Sofia.
"I appeal for more common sense and calm. I do not accept the demolition of sidewalks as an expression of civil position," the mayor said.
