According to Lazar Lazarov, the chairman of the Road Infrastructure Agency, only since yesterday, according to indicative data, the damages caused to the road infrastructure amount to about BGN 10 million.

Yesterday was an extremely difficult day for the Bulgarian roads, landslides intensified en masse, many rivers overflowed and many roads were closed. In many places in the country bridges fell, retaining walls were destroyed, said the head of the road agency.

The worst situation remains in Smolyan. On the way to Telish, about 200 meters of retaining wall has been undermined and is very dangerous. "There is a danger of falling rocks all over the area and I urge drivers to travel with caution and lower speeds. Yesterday there was a landslide on the road to Pamporovo, but at 3.30 this night we managed to open the road for traffic, "he informed.
