The gross premium income realized by non-life insurance companies at the end of the first nine months of 2013 amounted to BGN 1.005 billion, accounting for an increase of 5.1% on an annual basis with a decrease of 0.9%, calculated at the end of September 2012. ., inform the Financial Supervision Commission.

On the non-life insurance market, the largest share of the gross premium income realized in the sector is occupied by motor insurance (Civil liability related to the possession and use of motor vehicles and “Land vehicles, excluding rail vehicles”) - 69.6%, followed by property insurance ("Fire and natural disasters" and "Other property damage") - 17.8%.

Which are the largest companies in the non-life insurance sector? A report in the FSC shows that more than 10% of the market is held by only four of the companies. The leader Lev Ins is with 13.89 percent, and only for the last 12 months he has increased his share by 1.17 percent. At the end of the third quarter Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group held 13.67 percent of the market, ahead of Armeec and DZI General Insurance, which are 11.98 and 10.24 percent, respectively. Allianz Bulgaria and Bull Ins complete the forehead with 8.33 and 7.81 percent, respectively. They are followed by Uniqa, Victoria and Euroins, all with more than 5% share.

Top 10 is supplemented by Generali Insurance, where only for the last year they added a new 0.43 percent to 3.66%. Bulgarian motorists most often take out Civil Liability Insurance with Lev Ins, Bull Ins and Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group, while for Casco we prefer Armeec, DZI General Insurance and Bulstrad Vienna Insurance Group.
