A service that will allow you to inform your loved ones that you are well in the event of a disaster is about to launch Facebook. However, information on when exactly the service will become available has not yet been stated in the company's blog, TASS and the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
Safety Check, as the service will be called, will be available worldwide to all users of all types of devices, including "ordinary" mobile phones, which many people still use to access Facebook, especially in developing countries.
Many people already use the social network to inform their loved ones that they are safe after disasters and natural disasters, but this service will make it even easier for users.
By activating the function, it will be able to determine the location (according to the profile on the social network), thus determining whether the user is in the disaster area. He will then be asked, "Is everything okay," and he will be able to answer "I'm safe." The answer will automatically appear on the bar on the user's page and thus be distributed.
This feature was offered by the company as a result of the devastating events in Japan in 2011, when the earthquake and subsequent tsunami affected more than 12 thousand people.
